Old Fogie

The Babe (otherwise known in this household as George, husband, hubby, and occasionally 'Hey you!') had a birthday. Happy Birthday, Babe!!! Yup. He's an old fogie. It's officail!

Last year I made fun at him because he finally made it to a quarter of a century. This year I made fun at him because he is one year OVER a quarter of a century. Naw, I'm kidding. The Babe looks good! What is it 'they' say? "-insert age here- never looked so good!" In his case this year it'd be 26.

I officially won the Worst Wife of This Year's Birthday award. It was on a Tuesday, which meant I had work all day and George had school at night. So, to make it up to him, I made him breakfast before running off to work and then we went out on Saturday to look for snorkel gear (since he's always wanted some). Breakfast was good, but the snorkel gear didn't turn out. Long story short: we are going on a cruise in a few months and there is not much in this world George loves more than snorkeling. So, because of the lack of funding, we decided to rent rather than buy. There's nowhere for us to really snorkel here in GA. So, we decided to go buy some tennis gear and get outside together more often. :)

Birthdays and graduate school don't really go hand-in-hand. I guess we could say that goes for any special occasion, really. We've not spend our life savings, but we haven't been as careful as we probably should. We find that we struggle with our desire to have life experience and our desire to be debt-free and financially comfortable. I've been pinterest-ing ways all morning to pay off student loans FAST. Because I am a twenty-something American and I like to have everything NOW.

But, even though school can make things hard, we are so blessed. George is almost done with his education and then it will be on to bigger and better things!

I have a feeling 26 is going to be a big year for The Babe.
