2220.5 Miles - 35.25 Hours

Leaving Pooler, GA ---------------above.

Two very gracious and selfless parents, one very (7.5 mon) pregnant woman, one patient husband and graduate, and one very well behaved and curious puppy Vs. 2220.5 miles or 35.25 hours of long road and lots of rest stops.

We moved. Finally. It's over. Thank goodness. Praise be.

But, it was an adventure! We got to cross a few states off our list. We were able to see some pretty cool places. We saw so much beautiful country that our God created and that our amazing ancestors fought so hard for. It was my fifth time traveling across country and The Babe's second. It's amazing how many times you can go across and yet there is still so much to see and experience!

Thanks to my being so pregnant, we had to stop about every two hours for me to have time to walk around and get my blood moving. This gave us the opportunity to see Graceland, Sun Studio, a Cherokee trading post (because my dad is 1/16 Cherokee and had to stop to buy some cool stuff) and stay in the Red Cliff Lodge in Moab. I was thankful because the last time we came across the US, The Babe had to be in Savannah my a certain day for school to start, so we didn't have much time to stop and we traveled hard core for four days. This time we left about 4:30 pm Monday and arrived around 3 pm on Saturday.

Graceland was cool, but we didn't really get to see much except Elvis Presley Blvd., his private planes from afar and the gift shop because it was at least $40.00/person to actually go onto the property. So, we relished in some good gift shop shopping and let Capri run around the parking lot for a minute.

We also stopped at Sun Studio which is where Elvis recorded. There were lots of greats who have and do record there. Some of which are: Johnny Cash, BB King, Jerry Lee Lewis, Sonny Burgess, Def Leppard, Maroon 5, Vertical Horizon, Matchbox 20, and U2. It was cool to stand on the same building as was the birth of Rock'N'Roll.

I felt very pregnant this day. It definitely shows in these pictures, I think. 0_0

We followed my parents, so I got a lot of fun shots of the Penske hauling our little Fiat.

Driving through TX. ----------- above.

Just coming over the mountain from CO to UT. --above -- we missed the sky, mountains, and valley views!!

Moab, UT ----- above ----- one of my very favorite places in the whole US. So picturesque and such a unique landscape! I love me some Southern Utah. Lots of movies were filmed in Southern Utah such as: Indianna Jones, The Lone Ranger (the new one), John Carter, After Earth, Star Trek (2009), and lots of old westerns (especially ones with John Wayne).

I've always wanted to stay at this place called the Red Cliff Lodge in Moab. Because of their lower rates due to the off season, we were able to stay there for the night and I could not be more thrilled! Capri had plenty of space to roam in our awesome room and a little grassy area outside our porch for her to run around. The restaurant there is always delicious. It was a good night after a long day. The next morning we woke up to snow and the beautiful Colorado River. Capri discovered that she loves the snow and couldn't be more thrilled to run around in it.

We finally made it home, which was a Christmas miracle in and of itself. Haha.

We had so much help moving out and moving in, we couldn't be more thankful. I was blown away by the generosity and love from so many as we left GA and as we arrived home. We also couldn't be more thankful to God for blessing us with safe travels and no car problems.

Home sweet home never seemed so sweet as it did when we pulled in the driveway of my parents house. I could have kissed the ground! But, it's kind of hard for me to get down and back up these days. :P

(Didn't have time to proof read this. Sorry for any typos!!)
